Kathryn Woods

Scentwork

Kathryn has a passion for scent work and teaching. She is a member of the National Association of Canine Scent Work and is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) with this organization. She also has a masters degree in both social work (MSW) and special education (M.Ed.). Her background in psychology and education has prepared her well for sharing her knowledge and love of scent work.

Kathryn became personally involved in scent work in 2014 with the adoption of her Weimaraner, Grace. She continues to run both Grace and her German Short-Haired Pointer, Greta, in scent work trials and competitions.

Sandy Weaver

Conformation

Sandy Weaver is an author, speaker, trainer and success coach…and an AKC judge with a passion for Siberian Huskies and owner-handlers. Through the years she’s titled her dogs in conformation, obedience, agility, rally, canine musical freestyle, barn hunt, Fast CAT, working pack dog and several other venues. She’s currently owned by one young Siberian with 11 titles/designations…so far!

As an author, Sandy is working to put an end to the problem of veterinary suicide. Veterinarians are nearly 4 times more likely than the general population to complete suicide and her latest book, Happy Vet Happy Pet, explains the many contributing factors to the issue and teaches pet owners how they can save their veterinarian’s life. Happy Vet Happy Pet is available wherever books are sold.

Tamara Brower

CGC/CGCA
Beginner Obedience/Novice Obedience
Rally Novice/Advanced
Beginner Agility

Tamara has been training dogs for over 30 years. She grew up around dogs and being a very shy, introverted child, always felt a connection with them.  At age 14, she began training her dog, and never having any formal training herself, taught her dog to sit, down, shake hands, stay, say his prayers, as well as other little tricks.

As an adult, her love for working with dogs grew and she did start taking formal classes and reading training books, to learn how the experts trained their dogs and what she realized was, she was on the right track from the beginning without even knowing it.  She also learned that there is no one way to train a dog and that not every method will work for all dogs.

Over the years she has trained and titled her dogs in agility, obedience, hunt, tracking, conformation, earth dog, field trials, barn hunt, ratings tests (retrieving and shooting), rally, and scentwork.

The one thing I really have a desire to do, is help people that are struggling with training. So often people feel very lost when they start trying to train their dog. Having had some dogs that left me feeling clueless, I know completely the frustration an owner can have and want to help people try to bridge that gap of lack of communication between human and canine.”
